Here is the tank for sale^^^^ It is the one one the 68 Rapido (in front). It looks to be OK. You or anyone else make me an offer.

So the rapido and the m65/m50 share many parts? That is what my m65 looks like. Btw I got the tank and it is good using electrolisis to clean a smal amount of rust from the iside as we speak. I still need fuel valve that screws into internal threads on the tank and fuel cap. Where are u located I'm in N.C.

Yes, the early Rapido, M-65 and 50. share many of the same parts. The front half of the frame is the same for all. Rear swingarm and front forks are beefier on the 125 68-72 Rapido. Tanks, seats, aircleaners, bars, and grips are the same.
I live in Pittsburgh, Pa. area.
I have a petcock for the tank It is $12.00 as is. The gascap as you may know is specialized. It has a plastic 3 1/2" tube the diameter of the inside cap which allows it to keep the gas/oil mix from frothing out of the tank. The one I have should be painted black to be correct. It is in good shape. $19.00 for it.
Hope this helps. Donny

Thanks I got the cap. I just scratched all the paint off and will use it black with no paint at all.

RE: 71 leggero parts
IN case no one knows why the cap caps are so long on the early 2 stroke HDs; it is because there was no oil pump for mixing the oil with the gas.
The Rapido and similiar pre-70 Harleys gas cap was a measuring cup to be filled with 2 stroke oil that was the right ratio for a full gas tank of gas. Dat's why.

I'd heard about that technique on other old Euro two-strokes, interesting to see it here, as well. Now I need to go out and find an Aermacchi Leggero
