Restoration in progress 75' SX 250

Well getting pretty close to being done actually. Smile
I figured I'd share some pics and info on the bike. I bought this last fall with only 850 miles on the clock. I tend to believe that the milage is accurate, since I bought it off of a guy who has owned it from 77'. He used it to get to high school and back, then it sat in his basement ever since. When I got it the carb, was a solid block of 70's gasoline, and the inside of the tank had a fair ammount of rust. The first thing I did was POR15 tank resto kit, chiseled out the inside of the carb. After that and a fresh battery, the bike fired right up, and went to idle without a problem!! I did a few short rides with the bike before winter set in, but when the snow started, I began to disassemble, and got a little carried away. Here are pics after the powder coating was ready.

Since these pics, I've laced a fresh set of NOS rims, and now have almost everyting back together except for the tank & fenders which are getting painted, ( Should have them back within the week. I'll post up a few more pics when they get back.

Dammit man, very nice indeed. I wish I could make that kind of speed on my projects.
As to the H2, did you do the mono-shock yourself? I have an H1 that I have been fiddling with for years that I want to do an FZR rearend on.

I did do the monoshock myself. Its a shock from a ZX7 with FZR wheels. I love the Kawasaki triples, but the price of the parts is keeping me from further mods on the kawaski right now. The SX stuff is so cheap in comparison. (sounds strange that a Harley is cheaper to restore than a Kawasaki, but thats the was it is right now)

The painted parts shoed up today! 2 Thumbs Up
The bike now only needs a kick-stand and some gas, then it should be ready for some riding.

I found Sonnys Motorcycle in Lawerence MA to be very helpfull, and they have lots of inventory of good NOS parts reasonably priced. I bought the reflectors, rear tail light, and a bunch of other samll misc. stuff there. That, as well as scouring fleabay for a few months, got me pretty much everything I needed.
